Neoclassical Acupuncture Training — Australia
Official 2-Day Practitioner Workshop with Dr Mark McAuliffe
Train in Neoclassical Acupuncture with Dr Mark McAuliffe, authorised Clinical Instructor in Australia of the Neoclassical Acupuncture system, created and founded by Dr Slate Burris.
The Foundations training is based on a defined set of phenomenological energetic obstacles and entities originating in the clinical work of Dr Slate Burris. These are identified through direct palpation and confirmed through consistent regulatory change when treated with their corresponding corrective needles. They are taught as palpable energetic findings—rather than theoretical or diagnostic constructs—and are transmitted through hands-on training and sensory verification.
“Neoclassical Acupuncture was developed to bring acupuncture back to what the body is already showing us — through palpation, precision, and immediate feedback.”
— Dr Slate Burris
Hands-on. Results-driven. Clinically transformative.
A professional training for practitioners who want stronger diagnostic confidence, clearer clinical logic, and consistently better outcomes — not just more techniques.
What Makes This Training Different
Unlike many workshops that teach isolated techniques, this program transmits the core structure of the Neoclassical Acupuncture system.
You will learn to work across five integrated treatment levels:
• Meridian
• Organ
• Obstacles
• Symptomatic applications
• Elemental integration
This enables you to:
✔ Move beyond symptom-based treatment
✔ Identify what is truly limiting clinical progress
✔ Confirm effectiveness immediately through palpation
✔ Build treatments that evolve logically from session to session
✔ Develop greater diagnostic clarity and confidence
All training is delivered live, supervised, and clinically focused.
Clinical Scope & Integrative Application
Neoclassical Acupuncture is applied across a wide range of clinical presentations and integrates naturally with musculoskeletal, neurological, and internal medicine–based practice models.
Practitioners commonly use the system in cases involving:
• Acute and chronic pain syndromes
• Headache and migraine disorders
• Musculoskeletal and postural dysfunction
• Sports and occupational injury patterns
• Stress-related and autonomic nervous system presentations
• Digestive and internal medicine–type conditions
• Fatigue, burnout, and complex chronic patterns
• Men’s and women’s health presentations
Because the system is based on palpatory assessment, functional diagnosis, and objective treatment feedback, it translates well for practitioners trained in:
• orthopaedic and neurological assessment
• manual therapy and structural models
• functional and systems-based medicine
• rehabilitation and performance-based care
This allows Neoclassical Acupuncture to be integrated into existing clinical frameworks while offering a distinct, needle-based diagnostic and treatment methodology.
